JEWELLERY CARE

Every De Silang piece is made to be worn and kept. A little care keeps it the way you found it.

THE SHORT VERSION

Put it on last, after perfume, lotion and hair.

Take it off before you shower, swim, sleep or exercise.

Keep it dry.

Store it flat, dry and apart.

Wipe silver with a soft cloth now and then.

EVERY DAY WEAR

Your pieces are made for daily life, not the safe. Wear them. The one habit worth keeping is to put jewellery on last, once perfume, lotion, sun cream and hairspray have settled. Those are the things that dull silver and mark stones over time, so a few seconds of order goes a long way.

WATER AND CHEMICALS

Take pieces off before showering, swimming, the sauna or the gym. Water, chlorine, salt and sweat wear at silver, loosen stones and weaken the thread in strung and knotted pieces. The odd splash will not ruin anything, but a piece kept dry holds its finish far longer.

925 SILVER

Sterling silver tarnishes gently with time and air. This is natural, not a fault, and it lifts away easily. Buff it with a soft jewellery cloth to bring the shine back. Avoid silver dips and harsh cleaners, especially on anything set with stones or strung on wire, as they can damage the stones and the thread.

SEMI-PRECIOUS GEMSTONES

Our stones are natural and chosen by hand: Red Agate, Black Obsidian, Opal Moon and others. Each has its own character, and some are softer or more porous than others. Keep them away from perfume and household chemicals, wipe them with a soft, dry cloth, and do not soak them.

BEADED, KNOTTED & STRUNG PIECES

Small-bead pieces are strung on wire, so they sit close and move with you. Larger bead pieces are knotted by hand. Both like to be handled gently. Avoid pulling or stretching them, take them off before you sleep, and lay them flat to store rather than hanging, so the thread keeps its shape.

STORING

Keep pieces dry and apart, so they do not scratch or tangle. A soft pouch or your De Silang box is ideal. Silver stays brighter when it is kept out of the open air between wears.

KEEPING IT FOR LIFE
