Banaue (bah-NOW-eh) rises in stacked bands, one sitting above the next, so the ring builds height across the finger rather than sitting flat. Named for the rice terraces of Ifugao, cut by hand into the mountains of the northern Philippines and held for two thousand years.
925 sterling silver, left with no surface treatment, so the metal reads as itself. It takes light along the edge of each band and holds shadow in the steps between them. Silver softens with wear, which suits a form built on layers.
Worn alone it takes the whole hand, which is what it is for. Available in EU 52 and 54.
